Rooms at Eclectica Studios - Austin Texas
"The concept behind this studio was to create a relaxed and comfortable creative environment in a real studio setting with proper design that's unachievable in a house."
"We have the feel of home, but with proper room and acoustic design, parking, easy load-in, clean AC power source, and maintenance found only at high end facilities. The feel of home but not a house, It’s hard to be creative in a cold and sterile industrial complex, and impossible to get an controlled acoustical environment in a house, but as the picture show, we have found the balance."
"I have always had my own home project studio, and after cutting my teeth at the 'big boys', I knew I had to open this place. It is an oasis removed from the outside world, creative and clean. I knew that if we could create our own art here, other artists would feel the same, and they do."
"I have acoustically designed
many rooms to date, and the studios' sound speaks for itself. The 16X11ft
live room has correctly angled surfaces, double walls and is beautifully decorated
. We decided to go with the double pane French doors
instead of the intrusive windows you see in most studios, to infuse a more
creative and homey environment."
"The live room floor is a combination of carpeted and painted cement floors, giving us the ability to voice the room. Needless to say, the drum sound is outstanding. The live room houses a good assortment of amps and speakers, as well as a wide range of stringed instruments & percussion. Our studio drum kit features a signed Stewart Copeland signature model and a great assortment of cymbals."
"I don’t much care for the 4X4 iso booth thing, I like to hear the room a little, it takes space for the sound to develop. I track from the mic to the pre to the converter to the software, and then mix using Samplitude Professional using 2 of the Universal Audio DSP cards and summing is handled by our SAS system."
"The live room's monitoring system allows for 4 separate cue mixes feeding any combination of 8 headphones. The control room has it own separate cue mix." - Tim Dolbear
